PROCEEDINGS: FORUM ON FINANCIAL PROTECTION AGAINST NATURAL DISASTERS IN CENTRAL ASIA (Russian Version)
The Forum on Financial Protection against Natural Disasters in Central Asia took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on February 26–27, 2019. Organized by the World Bank with support of GFDRR for policy makers and practitioners from five Central Asian countries—Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, the Forum allowed participants to share their experiences and challenges, and to learn from countries outside the region that have made progress in disaster risk financing. The Forum brought together around 90 participants from Central Asia and beyond to share best practices and knowledge, raise awareness of fiscal risks posed by disasters, and foster regional collaboration.
