Global Shield Financing Facility-Annual Report 2024
In fiscal year 2024, the Global Shield Financing Facility (GSFF) continued its efforts to support the global community in closing critical protection gaps, enhancing crisis preparedness, and strengthening partnerships for climate and disaster resilience. Throughout the year, GSFF supported implementation of programs in 18 countries, increasing access to finance for climate and disaster shocks, and offering protection to 51.2 million people, including over 25 million women. Financial protection instruments supported by GSFF triggered $13 million in payouts, directly benefiting nearly 800,000 individuals. Inclusion of gender remains a core component of GSFF’s approach, as outlined in its Gender Strategy. Across its country-level and global engagements, GSFF addressed gender-specific vulnerabilities, such as providing financial literacy training for women-led micro, small and medium enterprises in Southern Africa and supporting women borrowers in Pakistan’s microfinance sector.
We are excited to announce the launch of the GSFF Annual Report 2024, highlighting our ongoing commitment to resilience.
Looking ahead, GSFF is dedicated to scaling its impact and fostering resilience in vulnerable communities. By prioritizing inclusive solutions, strategic partnerships, and knowledge sharing, GSFF will continue to advance financial protection and climate resilience on a global scale.
