[Webinar] The Challenges and Opportunities for Climate Risk Takaful

As climate change intensifies disaster risks for vulnerable populations, the need for innovative disaster financing solutions grows more urgent. Takaful is an emerging area of focus within the World Bank and parametric takaful for climate risk is a significant innovation. While parametric insurance for climate risk is now common practice, parametric takaful has not yet been explored and will become increasingly important to meet the ethical and religious needs of Muslim populations in climate vulnerable regions and to stem the tide of climate-induced fragility.

The webinar aims to discuss the existing and emerging challenges and opportunities from implementing inclusive Takaful solutions for climate vulnerable populations, learning from the experience of Takaful operators in Asia.
