[Launch of World Bank policy paper] Mobilizing public-private solutions to manage the financial impacts of natural hazards in emerging market and developing economies

Mar 17, 2025
Rome invite

The paper "Mobilizing public-private solutions to manage the financial impacts of natural hazards in emerging market and developing economies” highlights challenges and opportunities of operationalizing public private insurance programs (PPIPs) to help close the disaster protection gap in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs).

This invite-only event organized by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance in partnership with the World Bank Group, builds on a collaboration that started in the context of Italy’s G7 Presidency in 2024 and aligns with the South African G20 Presidency’s focus on disaster risk finance within the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group. The event will include two high-level panel discussions with EMDE representatives, international organizations, and private sector leaders to share best practices and operational insights.
