To improve the capacity of the Government of Lao PDR to prepare for and respond to natural disasters by strengthening the legal framework for hydro-meteorological services, enhancing the efficiency of recovery planning, and developing options to reduce the fiscal exposure to natural hazards.

Held preliminary discussions with GoES on their interest in joining the CCRIF

To support the Government’s efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation mainstreaming, with a focus on Public Investment, Territorial Planning, and Public Finances

Provided initial TA at a provincial level to help provincial government understand their financial exposure to disaster shock events 

DRFIP Co-TTL for DRM Projects to provide DRFI TA to the governments of these countries, building their resilience to disaster / shock events.  Work will initially focus on public financial management (PFM) 

To increase the financial resilience of the Pacific Island Countries (PICs) against natural disasters and their post-disaster response capacity. This will be achieved through the provision of technical assistance and advisory services on the financial and macroeconomic management of natural disasters to the ministries of finance.
