[Event Recap] Influence with Technical Stories : Global Risk Financing Facility (GRiF) Technical Talks Summer Special Webinar
The summer special webinar of the Global Risk Financing Facility (GRiF) Technical Talks took place virtually on July 22, 2021. The webinar featured a deep-dive into the art of story-telling to better communicate operational work. The session was kicked-off by lightening presentations from award-winning, professional story-tellers. Sunil Vishnu K (Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Evam and Training Sideways) presented the five hacks to effective story-telling. Chrissy Lim (Founder and Creative Director, PaperplaneCo) presented the core elements of the story-telling journey. Following the lightening presentation, Kaavya Ashok Krishna (Senior Financial Sector Specialist, Crisis and Disaster Risk Finance [CDRF], WBG) interviewed Sunil Vishnu K and Chrissy Lim on how to present technical content in an engaging fashion. The webinar was facilitated by Sumati Rajput (Senior Financial Sector Specialist, CDRF, WBG), featuring live poll questions to understand the participants better and interact with the audience. The webinar concluded with a Q&A session. The virtual session had over 188 registrations from 52 countries, and included donors, client representatives, international organizations, private sector companies, non-governmental organizations, and academia.
The GRiF Technical Talks feature a series of short virtual sessions, providing an overview of GRiF as well as lessons learned from innovative projects around the world.
